The Luis Elizondo Award for a Humanistic Outlook (LEA) was established in 1967 as a result of a personal contribution made by the Nuevo León businessman and philanthropist, Luis Elizondo Lozano, to promote scientific, technological, academic, and humanitarian work. Since then, Tecnológico de Monterrey has managed the award, thereby honoring the legacy of Don Luis.
The LEA is presented annually and consists of three categories to recognize the work of individuals (students, scientists, researchers) and institutions (foundations, associations) committed to philanthropy, human fraternity, and scientific knowledge. The Luis Elizondo Award drives the continuity of its candidates’ social and research efforts, while serving as a major support platform for the benefit of Mexican communities.
